Does an expungement delete a Mugshot?
The answer is “No.” They are totally separate matters and processes. While an arrest or conviction on a criminal charge can wreak havoc on your life for years to come, so does your Mugshot! Sometimes, the Mugshot is worse to some people because anyone can Google or Bing your name and see your most embarrassing photo of your life! Even so, it is always recommended that a person take the best approach and do the expungement together with the Mugshot removal.
People do not know this, but even if you were never formally charged or your case was dismissed, a criminal record (arrested or not) remains a permanent matter of public record due to Florida’s Sunshine Laws. Moreoever, unless you do something, your Mugshot will be on all the private sites for years to come even with an expungment. Your Mugshot and your criminal record itself can come back to haunt you when applying for jobs, loans, housing, licenses, even in your social life.
Whether you were convicted or not, people still judge you because you were arrested. The stigma of a Mugshot and a criminal record is far reaching these days. The days of innocent until proven guilty are over. With the Internet, a person is forever guilty until the criminal record is deleted and the Mugshot removed forever.

Does florida have a time limit to expunge or seal a record? No.
Currently, there are no time limits on when someone may start the process of sealing or expunging a criminal record with the FDLE, the Sheriff’s office, the court, and the jail.
However, DO NOT wait!
The longer your personal information stays on the Internet, the more difficult it can be to accomplish your objectives. While the legal process can take four to six months for sealments/expungements, Mugshot removal can even take longer. Waiting to help yourself only hurts and makes the removal process more difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. Don’t jeopardize your future by failing to try and legally clear your name and reputation as soon as possible, contact Attorney Douctre for a comprehensive consultation today. Your future is worth it! It is never too late to begin. Even if you cannot afford to delete your Mugshot right now, doing an expungement is a great investment in your future.
